Remove old shower stall and install new shower stall. Cut water to house off or if there are cut off behind the tub cut it off there. Carefully remove the old tub and shower valve. Remove handle, and esuction plate. Cut old valve out from the back side wall Clean work area and begin prepping the new tub and shower valve for installation. Begin install putting the new tub and shower in place and solder together , then come back to the tub side of the faucet in install the tub a shower trim.

We started by cleaning the bottom 3″ of the glass along the bottom frame channels, using both Methyl Hydrate and Naptha (lighter fluid), then sealed between the glass and the frame with white caulk (clear may have looked better). Then we cut the Adjustable Shower Drip Rail to fit over the frame and laid it flat against the glass. We left about 2″ of overhang beyond the hinge, so the water could drain into the pan. We made sure to create a steep rake of about 1 ½” starting at the outer strike edge of the door and sloped it down towards the pan. The Peel and Stick transparent adhesive worked great, but we also use the caulk to fill in the cut outs between the glass and around the frame, as well as along the top of the rail, because we wanted to test it with water right away, before it had the minimum time of 24hr. to cure. My friend Ali is extremely happy, because it saves him so much time and work from having to mop up all of the water that was flowing out of the shower enclosure. These 36″ Universally Adjustable Shower Drip Rails can be retrofitted onto any flat Framed or Frameless shower door. This video starts by introducing my neighbor Joan, who recently fell and broke her hip. Among the things we’re doing to make her return home more comfortable, is to install a Waterpik hand-held shower head. Joan’s daughter Susan, recently arrived from England, and bought the hand-held shower head so Joan can sit on a bathtub chair while taking her shower.
